In this presentation, Mr. Wiss makes the topic of trauma relevant to dietitians. By understanding the mechanisms by which trauma gets "under the skin," providers can be less assumptive and less stigmatizing regarding human behavior. Being "trauma-informed" does not mean discussing trauma with patients- it is simply about understanding and creating a safe environment for healing. This presentation is designed to help dietitians feel more confident working in mental health settings and to have higher levels of cultural humility.

Puget Sound Kidney Centers in WA, a non-profit community-based dialysis provider, has a full time opening for a Renal Dietitian.
